Movies
On a typical night in Belgium many people will go to the local cinema to watch a movie. Movies in Belgium are similar to those shown in the United States. Some movies are made in Belgium and the actors speak either Dutch or French. Other movies are made in the United States and then translated to either French or dutch so that the Belgians can understand them For example, SpongeBob: Out of Water will be in US theaters in 2015. Football (soccer)
A favorite sport among Belgians is football, which in the United States we consider soccer. The Royal Belgian Football Association includes thousands of teams ranging from professional to children's teams. In Belgium you can enjoy the game of football by watching the Belgian National Football League both in person or on T.V. You will also see many people playing an exciting game of football in the local parks. |
Festivals: Dancing
During the warmer part of the year, Belgians often celebrate their history by hosting festivals. A large part of these festivals is honoring their heritage through dance. People will dress up in traditional Belgian clothing and preform authentic dances! |

Amusement Parks
Belgian locals enjoy time spent at amusement parks such as Oceada. Oceada is a famous indoor/outdoor water park just outside of Brussels. When people are at the park they have the opportunity to ride one of the world's fastest water slides. The park even regulates the temperature so that visitors can enjoy the water year-round! |
